Sorting Out the Posse

Image
This week we spoke and defined our app in greater detail amongst ourselves. To put out the essence of the app, we will be combining Jean Luca's and Antonella's app ideas. We created a brief that would help us in understanding the app better so I might as well just post that. Hybrid App March 16, 2017 Overview We are going to create an application that is a hybrid of 2 apps we created in class. The app will consist of a productive schoology like system where lecturers can implement assignments and evaluate students based on their skill, if the student has a higher skill in a subject, he will be given an estimate of less time to complete as the assignment will be easier for him to complete. The assignment will be split up into tasks and subtask so every student will be organised with every section. The app will also contain a customisable time table section where you can add or customise your own timetable with your own timetable of your daily routine. We will also ...

Creating the Posse

Image
We had to create our own group (sort of), seeing as interactive coders are on such short supply there had to be 1 per 2 graphic students and chaos ensued  We managed to get a solid team in the end INCLUDING : me, Jean, Chiara and Antonella. With all teams set we discussed which project we would actually be working on. We will most likely be going to develop a blend of Jean's and Antonella's App ideas as they are the most feasible. Mine was a little ambitious and Chiara's was not liked as an idea, but not in a bad way.

Presentation

Image
The Presentation went off without a hitch, there were some great ideas around the class. I explained the origin, workings and future implementation of the app.  Didn't Get that much feedback though partially due to the time constraints. I truly think my project is too big to develop further at my current stage so I will probably see what projects the whole class has and try to see if i can compromise with someone and implement some gamification features.

The End of the Legit Text

Future Possibilities for the App Globe - Countries are created for each person currently using the app. A further expansion can be implemented to show the entire “globe” where users can find and view other peoples “countries” and further go in to view their cities. This can increase the connection users will have with each other. Social Help - With the implementation of the globe system viewers can traverse the virtual world and look at other peoples boards. Users can then direct message the people to either offer help or try to work something out together. For example if I have just finished my thesis and am feeling helpful I can look around the globe to find people with similar problems and try to help them. Labels - Tasks can be labeled depending on the theme of the task. For example if I am working on my thesis I can label it as education. Upon completing 5 tasks with this label you can unlock a special building related to those labels, for example a school. This way each ...

The Grand Confirmation

I poke to Redd about the final product of my app, funnily enough I didn't have to change much just elaborate a little more on what features can be implemented to benefit the future of the app. These I will have to express in detail through my documentation and explain them in the presentation. Will update the documentation shortly and post it here.
