This is getting quite tiring, still need to find a way to create the define and create the app faces, should be fun though if i manage to pull it off.

Thought Process

Upon given the brief I started to think about apps which I want to use but can’t seem to ever do so. I searched for the dreaded anti-procrastination apps. I analysed  apps  because I do believe in the benefits they provide, including organizing and structuring assignments both personally and in teams and also creating an effective work flow. The reason I don’t use them is because I cant seem to focus on information displayed on a screen as well as I do on paper.   This is where I started researching apps which entertain and seem to follow without any problems, this led me to idle games. I played idle games before so I know the benefits and game time one can expect from these games . I wanted to find a way of connecting these two separate experiences, mainly the task management of apps merged with the upgrade and idle reward system of idle games... Now I flesh out the concept.

Concept

The concept revolves around visually rewarding the user for his work. The aim is to have all the benefits of the information management apps such as creating and managing tasks whilst gaining experience and currency for your idle game city.

The app will allow you to remove any unnecessary distraction caused by your phone and visually reward you with elements you can use even after finishing an assignment. The idea is not to take time from the actual working process but rather grant a better reward system that can be used and managed in the long run. Implementing a sharing system between users can also create a support system between users facing similar challenges or who have already passed through them.

Walk through  

You will first be required to set up the app  by inputting your user name and password, selecting your preferences and selecting which essential apps(phone,messaging etc.) to be unlocked during your working time. Next you establish your assignment and and define your tasks. To star working you first have to select a task and establish how long you will be working for. When set a count down timer starts. When it reaches 0 you will be asked if you want more time which may grant better rewards. Upon completing the time set you are rewarded with currency/resources that would be transferred in the next section of the app, the game. Here using you’re resources you can manage build and upgrade your city. You may also share your work on social media showing the world how much you achieved. Throughout the game during loading times and timer count downs you will also be shown messages and tips imputed by users themselves.
